Camp Viola is a summer recreational camp for children who might not otherwise have a camping experience. Founded in 1926 by Miss Viola Burks, the camp consists of 180 acres of land near Mountville. Activities include arts and crafts plus sports and recreation. Supervised by the Board of Directors of Camp Viola, volunteers from local churches and organizations provide daily activities including hiking, swimming, fishing, daily worship services, social skills education, football, volleyball, softball, canoeing, and outdoor education. Three meals are provided each day as well as snacks which are all USDA approved.

Churches and/or other Non-Profit Agencies that facilitate camps are responsible for identifying and enrolling the children that attend their organization’s camps. Elementary and Middle School counselors are often able to give children and parents information on how to contact a near-by church that is facilitating a summer camp. However, parents can contact Twin Cedars for more information as well as request their child be placed on a “wait list”. Most children on the wait list usually have the opportunity to attend one of the scheduled camps during the summer. The camp serves children between the ages of 8 and 12.
