The City of West Point C.A.R.E.S. After school Program, located at The West Point Youth Servies Center, serves students in kindergarten through 8th grade. Providing a safe, supportive, and engaging program for children.

JOB DESCRIPTION This position is responsible for performing duties associated with the C.A.R.E.S. afterschool program. Lead academic, enrichment, and recreation activities with small groups of students. Provide assistance and tutoring to students. Assures safety and supervision of children. Implements discipline techniques and classroom management. Maintains a clean and orderly environment and other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Applicants must possess the ability to work with students and adults in a positive manner. Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills and basic English and mathematics skills. The ability to follow written and verbal instructions, to work cooperatively with colleagues, to be flexible, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Successful experience working with children is preferred. Applicants must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent and be capable of passing a pre-employment drug screen and satisfactory criminal background check. Must obtain valid CPR/First Aid training within 30 days of hire.
