Water Treatment Plant Operator – Part Time

JOB DESCRIPTION Position is responsible for assisting in the operations of the city’s water treatment plant. An incumbent in this position may be designated as “Class II or Class III.” Work consists of related duties in the operation, repair, and maintenance of the water treatment plant and related systems. Individual will test water samples in lab and records results to determine water quality, control the treatment process and chemical dosages to respond to changes in water quality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • High School Diploma or equivalent. • Current, valid Driver’s License • Requires Class 3 Water license from the State of Georgia within 6 months of hire. • Knowledge of safety procedures pertaining to operation of water treatment plant. • Knowledge of state regulatory requirements and chemistry & biological processes • Skilled in the use of computers and job-related software programs. • Possession of or ability to readily obtain an appropriate state-certified license for water or water treatment t or distribution as appropriate. • Applicants must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Salary Range: $34,845.00 - $43,784.00 (depending on certification)
